Nestled on nearly two acres with idyllic views of Cedar Creek, this traditional colonial home from the 2000s was brimming with potential but felt stuck in the past with its dark finishes and dated details. This young family was eager to transform this house into their forever home, and tasked us to create a design that perfectly balances charm and functionality.

We were so excited to take on the challenge of transforming this home! The focus was on brightening up the kitchen, dinette, and living room while finding smart ways to reimagine unused spaces. The result? A refreshed first floor, spacious walk-in pantry and a super-functional mudroom that feels like they’ve always belonged.

Our team honored the home’s charm while creating a brighter, more functional living space for this young family to enjoy every day. The kitchen transformation became the star of the show. We leaned into light, natural tones and modern finishes, creating a space that feels warm, inviting, and still very true to its roots. The balance here was key—keeping just enough of the original charm while layering in updates that feel fresh and functional.

Now, let’s talk flow. The once-disjointed spaces (kitchen, dinette, and living room) are now connected—both visually and practically. We widened doorways, smoothed transitions, and thoughtfully worked out how the family would use each area daily. The result? A home that feels effortless, smart, cohesive, and just plain beautiful.

The Pantry

Oh, the pantry. We added one! We turned the existing laundry room into a double-duty laundry + pantry with high style and low maintenance finishes. It’s bold, moody, and oh-so-practical. This walk-in wonder adds a pop of personality with its olive green cabinetry while offering storage that works hard for this busy household.

The final reveal feels like a breath of fresh air: timeless, modern, and perfectly suited to its surroundings. It’s a space that invites you in and encourages you to stay awhile, and that’s exactly what we wanted for this young family.
