Design & Milestones
Built in the 1950’s their new home was big on space, but short on functionality. The kitchen for this family was completely reimagined. Our design layout was focused on allowing two to cook, with easy access to all appliances. The finishes promote gorgeous Cambria countertops, understated (yet-hot-as-can-be!) dimensional Walker Zanger backsplash tile, two color custom cabinetry, and new hardwood floors woven in. Giving this kitchen a feel of originality, yet a fresh and inviting aesthetic. New window seats, flanked by bookshelves and wine storage is dangerously comforting.
It seems no home has sufficient mudroom storage, except this one. We strove to perfectly balance bringing the ‘outside in’, so with a few wall changes, we replaced old windows to match the existing style. Adding a warm toned bench seat with an ultra convenient closet as well as coat hooks to easily breeze in from a long day. The tile flooring plays softly off the adjacent wood floors by mimicking end grain wood material while having the durability of a porcelain tile. This mudroom isn’t afraid of any season!
