After starting their life together in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, this young couple decided to purchase her childhood home—a two story colonial in Brookfield. They knew they wanted to infuse the urban character of the beloved neighborhood they were leaving behind, but weren’t sure where to begin.
We collaborated with them on a full-home renovation, staged into two projects, that could accommodate their busy life and growing family, while keeping their urban chic aesthetic in mind.
On the first floor, we started with the kitchen, adding in a commanding island with space for storage, food prep, and seating; Carrara Marble countertops; a Moroccan tile mosaic behind the stove; and sleek gray custom cabinets to tie it all together. We also commissioned a custom banquet with a gorgeous hand-distressed walnut top. The rest of the first floor included other updates with big returns, such as a reworked stairwell, mantle, flooring throughout, and a powder room.
For the second floor, our team reimagined a master suite that included a generous closet, a new soaking tub and tiled walk-in shower with a rainshower and body sprays for the ultimate spa experience, as well as a convenient double vanity designed to keep mornings streamlined and comfortable. We also included a bright and playful children’s bathroom, featuring custom cabinetry and a newly tiled shower.
